A look back on the first trimester, since the blog world missed it...
How far along: 5 weeks
Best moment this week: Finding out that I'm pregnant!
What's new with baby: Baby is the size of a sesame seed. Even at this tiny size, a lot has been going on, and major organs like the heart, lungs, and intestines are already beginning to form. This week the tiny heart divides into chambers and begins to beat and pump blood. This is fascinating to me, a sesame seed with a heartbeat! {Psalm 139:13 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."}
Mom is feeling: A bit squeamish, but that might just be nervous excitement about the big adventure ahead.
Weight gain: Not yet
Wardrobe: Same as always
Cravings: Nope
Missing: My morning cup of coffee, no more caffeine for me
Name news: Right now we're calling it "the baby"
Scared about: Miscarriage, and being able to keep it a secret until the end of the first trimester, it feels so far away right now.
Excited about: Everything! There is so much to look forward to in the coming months and I am so thankful to be experiencing such a blessing!
