Custom Curtains

Our breakfast nook began 2011 with busy wallpaper, droopy curtains, and all around ugliness:
By summer, she was stripped down and ready for a renovation:
In the fall when my parents visited my mom and I made a trip to the fabric store and sent her back home with measurements, fabric, and a mission.  She did not disappoint.  I am thrilled to present our new nook curtains:
The pattern is simple, and so is the style.  It suits my tastes perfectly, nothing too distracting yet not completely bland either.
Thanks Mom!  She even included a ruffle curtain for the window over the sink.  It looks great!
Now that our one eating area is complete the brainstorming has begun for our other dining zone... the currently empty dining room.  Actually, it isn't totally empty, we have created a hypothetical table out of our Christmas tree decoration bins to help us visualize what size table might work.  The painter's tape on the floor represents more accurate measurements.
We'll focus more on this room next year... for now we're too busy enjoying our beautiful new kitchen nook!
