Wheeler Family Reunion Extravaganza

It has been years since we've gotten together with everyone on Matt's Dad's side of the family.  The bunch is spread out across several states and rarely in the same place at the same time.  A few weeks ago an e-mail went out calling for a reunion over Labor Day weekend in Oak Ridge, Tennessee for whoever could make it and to everyone's surprise, all families were available!  John and Peggy's house was the perfect venue for lots of eating, catching up, and fun.
The whole gang (minus baby Annie who was inside sleeping)

There was lots of laughter, delicious family favorite foods, hotel pool fun for the kids, football, and reminiscing.  I know that George and Frances (Matt's late grandparents) would have loved to know that their children, grandchildren, and now their eleven great-grandchildren spent a weekend together enjoying each other's company and sharing stories about them.

Kate and Annie- only a few weeks apart, fitting since Matt and Amy were born a week apart

Fast friends, Annie and Kate will be the ones running through the house together at the next reunion

Such fun memories, and I'm glad that Kate got to meet this group of people who love her dearly.  We are very blessed to come from such happy families that like being around each other.  Who knows, maybe Labor Day family reunions will become a tradition!
