Swamp Baby

Welcome to the Palmetto State!
It was another memorable weekend with family, this time Matt's side.  His parents and Aunt Carol came on Friday to spend some time oohing and ahhing over baby Kate.  They arrived laden with coolers full of delicious food, it was like having a caterer show up and my fridge and freezer are stocked with lasagna, chicken salad, pimento cheese, spinach dip, and much more.  It's nice to be spoiled!  Of course no one enjoyed their visit as much as Kate, who loved having so many people around with eager arms to hold her.

Kate's coos and babbles had everyone chatting with her

On Saturday we went to Congaree National Park to tour the swamp.  The weather was perfect and our tour guide (John) was quite knowledgeable about the sights along the loop thanks to the brochure he picked up at the visitor's center.  It was an educational outing for all, except our cute baby... who slept through the entire adventure.

That's a big tree.

I love that spring has arrived in South Carolina and we were able to spend so much of the weekend outdoors.  Kate keeps getting more and more interactive and I'm glad she recently got to see all of her grandparents since things will get a bit hectic next month when I return to work and it might be awhile before more visitors come.  We're so lucky that even though we live far away, Kate has spent the first few months of her life meeting so many of the people who love her most.
Come back again!

  1. Love all the pictures. I will print out and send to Mom. She told me that she has one of Kate's pics by her chair and she talks to her. Aunt Jack is loving the pictures too.
We had such a great weekend. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
Give Kate and Matt big hugs and kisses for me.
