Last week was a hard one as we traveled to Western Kentucky after Gran passed away on Wednesday to be with family and celebrate the legacy she left behind (I'm sure I'll be back soon to write about that trip). Before that happened though, the week had started out with a relaxing family day at the coast, and in hindsight knowing what a tough week would follow it makes that day even sweeter.
After a wet winter and several weekends cooped up in the house, when a sunny Sunday was in the forecast we jumped at the chance to spend a day in Charleston together. As usual, it did not disappoint. Our first stop was a tasty brunch of blueberry pancakes and chicken and waffles. Then we visited the Palmetto Islands County Park and had a fun day exploring the trails and playgrounds there.

| Gazing out at the marsh |

By late afternoon we left the park to go out to Sullivan's Island for some beach time. Clouds had rolled in and it was windy but that didn't stop my beach bears from getting sandy and silly together.

Days when we get in the car and ignore all the usual chores and weekend errands to make spending time together a priority are the best!

As always your blog post bring a big smile to my face. I definitely need to see y'all anyway I can.
ReplyDeleteI've never been in the camp of thinking kate and luke look anything alike... but the "gazing at the marsh" picture has finally made me see it. Luke looks JUST like a young BK minus the blond hair.
