One of the best things about living in South Carolina is that when you have a weekend with no plans you can look at your spouse on a Thursday and say, "Let's go to the beach this weekend." and it's no problem at all to find yourself here on Saturday:

Letting those white legs soak up some sun on Sullivan's Island
By lunchtime we were on Sullivan's Island, and we ate outside on the fun, rustic porch of Home Team BBQ. Matt got the barbecue:
I got the smoked chicken salad, which will from now on be the chicken salad against which I measure the tastiness of all other chicken salads. It was delicious.
After lunch we rode our bikes to the beach and spent some time relaxing and enjoying the perfect warm, breezy, cloud free day.![]() |
End of April and the water already feels great!

Someday I want a house with a tree and swing like this. The beach view wouldn't hurt either.

That speck in the distance? It's Fort Sumter.
We headed into Charleston for the evening and had shrimp and crab cakes at Pearlz Oyster Bar on East Bay Street in the middle of all the fun downtown Charleston attractions. After dinner we strolled all around the city admiring the pretty houses, gardens, shops, and sights. As it was getting dark and our feet were getting tired, we stumbled across Kaminsky's Dessert Bar.

The bar was too crowded and dark to get pictures, so I stole this from their website so you could see how awesome it looked.
It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday- eating good food, laying on the beach, cycling around the island, and wandering around the city. Only a few more weeks until we get to go back and spend a whole week vacationing there, I can't wait!

So jealous! Glad y'all had a great weekend!
