Celebrating the Cats

We made the right decision heading up to Kentucky to watch Saturday night's semifinal game.  The closer we got to Lexington, the more cars we saw with UK flags flying and the atmosphere around town was festive, eager, and completely covered in blue.  For example, we grabbed some chicken for dinner upon our arrival in town and I ordered a lemonade.  Once we got to the drive thru window and my drink was handed to me I realized with delight that my lemonade was... blue!  At that moment we both knew no matter how the game went, coming to watch it in Kentucky surrounded by fellow fans who dye their drinks blue in honor of the occasion was a good idea.
Dear Raising Cane's: This was awesome.  Love, your devoted customer for life
Blue lemonade was just the beginning of blue treats we consumed.  For breakfast we ate blueberry muffins, then later blue cookies, blue rice krispies treats, and a blue velvet cake after we won!
Too pretty to eat?  Nope!
The mayor had officially declared it "wear blue and white" weekend, and we did proudly.
We may be SC residents, but we'll always be UK alumni

Mack family reunion- Kentucky Blue edition

Ellie- excited about her first NCAA tournament so far
We watched the game at the Crawford's (with fellow former Lexingtonians, the Fasciotto's who made the drive from NKY) and if you think Laura's blue pants are great (which they are)...

... wait until you see Pete's game day pants:

This is why we are friends.  Awesome.

Things got a bit intense during the game as we nervously watched at the edge of our seats.  When the final buzzer sounded we were relieved, ecstatic, and exhausted!

Some Kentucky fans went a bit crazy burning things and flipping cars, but we kept it classy... the time for jubilant rioting is Monday night.  I am so excited that we are in the final game with our first shot at a national title in 14 years.  I love that we got to celebrate our last step to the championship game with our college friends in our college town.  One more game to go!
