Turkey Round 2

We usually spend Thanksgiving in Western Kentucky on Matt's grandmother's farm with his mom's side of the family.  This year Gran has been in and out of the hospital lately fighting a stubborn infection and it was decided that feeding thirty some people would not be the best way to help her recover.  Instead we broke out the fancy china and silver at Matt's parents and used the often forgetten dining room for our second turkey feast.
This feast featured a smoked turkey from Buddy's barbecue.  I'd like to shake Buddy's hand, because he smoked that bird to perfection.
Of course there was also a buffet of sides to accompany that smoky entree.
And just to make you even hungrier, here's a picture of Peggy's Pecan Pie for dessert:
The whole meal looked like it belonged in a magazine and was the perfect end to a very lazy Thanksgiving Day.  Then on Friday we drove to Nashville to see Matt's family on his dad's side.  It's been years since we saw many of them and it was a casual, fun reunion full of good food, laughter, and entertainment provided by Matt's cousin's adorable little girls.
Saturday we headed back south, cheered for our Cats as they finally beat Tennessee in football, and started decking the halls.  I wish everyone a happy late Thanksgiving, and hope that you had a weekend as nice as ours!
