Luke is one!

Happy birthday to my one and only, my favorite little boy, my love, my Luke!  How can it be that a year of sleepless nights and laughter filled days has come and gone already?  Where is this tiny baby that I met last year on the first of December?

The first year really does fly by, from month to month we were living with and loving a new and different little person as Luke became our Luke.  Here is how far we came in just one year:

From a wee squirmy laid back dude to a chunky monkey to a blue eyed beauty, to a giggly babbler, to a 12 month old happy, curious baby each month that sweet and silly personality evolved.  From day one Luke has been relaxed and content and he still rarely fusses, unless of course it's nighttime.  Even our nights are mostly manageable now, he still sometimes throws in a night of intermittent screaming just to remind us of the early days. Keeps things interesting. He is an early riser, but unlike his sister he won't snuggle after his 5:00 a.m. breakfast, nope, he is either ready to start the day or will snooze solo another hour.  Just don't ever try to ask him to snuggle, there's too much out there to see and do to ever be still.

Luke loves his sister, bopping up and down dancing when he hears music, all foods, fresh air (seriously, if he gets cranky walking outside with him immediately improves his mood), slides, and knocking over towers.  He doesn't like to be confined or restrained in a car seat, high chair, or someone's arms- he'd much rather explore his surroundings.  This little man is on the go, nonstop, and he's fast!  He is not walking yet but he can crawl up the stairs and onto furniture with ease.

Nicknames: Kate calls him Lukey or Lukey Mae.  We call him Bud or Buddy, sometimes Little Man.

Without Luke we'd just be Three Wheelers, and while that was fun, it's not even close to how great our family is now with this boy in it.  Happy first birthday, I love you more than I could ever write on a blog.
