Fall Wrap Up

Fall flew by, and was full of travels, colds, playground visits, and fun.  Earlier this month Grammie and Granddaddy came to help us out when our daycare was closed for Veteran's Day.  Matt left for his final (hooray!) trip of the year to Canada during their visit and it was nice to have some extra hands wrangle my wild bunch on the weekend.  Not to brag, but I did pretty great for a week as a single parent, it helped that everyone was healthy and no natural disasters hit our city this time Matt was away.

We were thrilled to have Matt back home last weekend and spent some much needed family time together relaxing and visiting more playgrounds and the zoo.

Then Luke came down with the nastiest cold I've seen, and it led to an ear and eye infection just in time for our Thanksgiving trip to Northern Kentucky.  He was a champ though, even though he was snotty and congested and his face was chapped raw he was a cooperative traveler and we didn't let a cold keep us from having a fantastic holiday with my family.

We visited more playgrounds, ate delicious dinners, went to the library, had an intense game of Phase 10, had a mini baby shower for Claudia, had a mini birthday party for Luke, and Luke and I squeezed in a play date with my old high school friend Laura and her little cutie Owen.  By Friday Luke was feeling much better but Kate spiked a fever that night.  She slept a lot on the way home and will hopefully bounce back from it soon.

Being with family is a constant reminder of how much we have to be thankful for, the wonderful people who love us and our children.  It was a great way to end the fall and kick off the holiday season, one that's sure to be memorable as well.  Happy Thanksgiving!
