Zoo Adventures

We live 10 minutes from the Riverbanks Columbia Zoo but this past weekend was the first time we ever got around to getting a membership and taking the kids.  We had such a great time, we've already been back again.  Matt's parents were in town for the weekend and the perfect weather meant lots of fun outside.

Lazy backyard afternoon fun after our morning at the zoo:

Catching bubbles

Kate was sent home on Tuesday from daycare with a fever, and by Wednesday she was back to herself but not allowed to go back to school yet.  We took advantage of a rare mandatory day off to enjoy the zoo on a deserted weekday afternoon:
No crowds or competition to watch the penguins
Nothing like feeling the sunshine on your chubby thighs while watching  the flamingos

I can't wait for all the future memories we'll make at the zoo as the kids get bigger and enjoy exploring all the exhibits.

  1. Sorry Kate was sent home with a fever. Love that y'all got the opportunity to go to the zoo when it wasn't crowded.
Wish I were there to kiss those sweet chubby thighs. He is just too sweet.
Have a safe trip to Asheville.
    Happy Mother's Day.
