January was a tough month around here with all the illness, rain, and colder than usual temperatures. As a result, we were all going a little stir crazy cooped up in the house. When this past week the sunshine and 60 to 70 degree weather we'd grown accustomed to for winters in South Carolina returned we decided to head for the coast and take full advantage.
We did some outlet mall shopping, ate a fabulous lunch from Butcher and Bee in Charleston, visited some great parks on both Mt. Pleasant and Sullivan's Island, and of course Kate (and we) wiggled our bare toes in some warm sand. Kate loved the beach, she was a bit surprised when she got too close to the ocean and a chilly wave hit her feet, but overall she was thrilled walking around, eating sand, picking up seashells, and exploring. It was a quick and perfect cure for the winter blahs.

Looks like a fun day, makes me want to go to the beach.
ReplyDeleteNice juxtaposition with the last two blog posts, snow to sand. I hope I used that big word correctly.
Love you all.
