Hello blog world! I had hoped to share adorable "baby's first Halloween" pictures last weekend, but sadly it was not meant to be and Kate's first Halloween was a bust. We had plans last Saturday to dress up the whole family and attend a Halloween party until Saturday afternoon when Kate spiked a fever and proceeded to have one of the worst weeks of her life. The fever was gone by Sunday, but then the real crankiness began. We'd like to blame teething, but since no teeth appeared at the end of the irritable, no sleep, no appetite ordeal... that doesn't seem to be the reason. After several rough days and nights (oh, those terrible nights!) she was back to her happy self which I was very glad about since my parents arrived on Thursday to spend this weekend with us. On Halloween we didn't dress Kate up either, it started raining shortly after we got home from work and daycare, but I'll try to get a picture of her in that cute monkey costume at some point.
Last weekend was full of frustration and baby rocking, but this weekend was wonderful! Kate loved having her Oma and Opa around to play with, and we loved going on a date Friday night with free babysitting to celebrate our upcoming anniversary!

A preview of what Christmas will be like... Opa bought Kate a cute rattle, but the tissue paper in the gift bag was much more entertaining

Hugs from Oma, and happiness once she noticed the bunny rattle was in the bag too

Kate and her Opa in her playpen

Blueberry yogurt just tastes better when Oma is the one spooning it into your mouth
It rained all day Friday, but Saturday was a perfect fall day. We took a nice long walk along the river at Saluda Shoals Park soaking up the sunshine and colorful views.

I love seeing the relationship that Kate has with her grandparents, her little face lights up around them and theirs do too of course. I'm glad our smiley baby is back and that we had another weekend full of fun fall memories.
