Boo!

We have been enjoying beautiful fall weather here and yesterday was our annual Trunk or Treat at church, probably our best year yet.  The kids are finally both old enough to really participate and get excited about the festivities.  There were bounce houses, carnival games, and of course lots of cars lined up handing out sugary treats.  Kate decided this year that she wanted to be a mermaid, and I jumped at the chance to dress her as one of my childhood favorites- Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

I love the way her look turned out!  Of course Luke, always the adoring and copying little brother, wanted to be an underwater creature too, and we came up with one of the easiest costumes ever- Snorkelman!  Some of his sister's black ballet tights completed the wet suit diving look and this handsome guy was ready to go mermaid hunting!

As expected, the headpiece accessories didn't stay on long once we got to Trunk or Treat, but their costumes were still recognizable enough without the added details.  One of their favorite activities was the tug o' war challenge, look at this concentration!

We did run into another Little Mermaid, our friend Harper, and we had to laugh at great minds thinking alike again, because two years ago both Kate and Harper showed up as Minnie Mouse and neither time was planned!

We had so much fun and can't wait until Wednesday night to go trick or treating in our neighborhood too! We are planning on wearing the same costumes again, but you never know with these creative kiddos what they might end up wanting to wear...
