Turkey Time

Ah, Thanksgiving.  A time when all across America folks gather around the table and take pictures with their food.  We had a fabulous holiday, full of fun, feasting, and family.  It brings me so much joy to see the sweet trio of Mack cousins together, they are becoming best pals.  We are always spoiled when we visit family, and this time was no exception, Mom pulled out all kinds of tasty tricks to make it a memorable holiday.

Before- Preparing to spatchcock this tasty bird
After- Preparing to devour this juicy guy
When we weren't busy eating, we spent the rest of the weekend enjoying being together, reading books, visiting playgrounds, and baking cookies.  We don't get to see our family that often, maybe that's what makes it so special when we are there and makes me extra thankful for these trips.

Oma has an audience and eager assistants while baking cookies
Adding the finishing touches- dipping them in melted chocolate
We drove all the way home on Saturday, with a few stops along the way to squeeze in breakfast with Hannah in Lexington and lunch and dinner with Grammie and Granddaddy in Tennessee.

Cousin Group Hug
I hope you all had a great holiday weekend and the opportunity to hug some of your favorite people over the break too.  I'm thankful for you, thanks for taking the time to check in on our family and read this little blog!
