| Someone loves the water and her Opa |
In my book, summer began last weekend with our first mini-vacation of the year. My parents were staying at one of our favorite spots in the world, Wild Dunes Resort on Isle of Palms, and we jumped at the chance to join them. It was three days of sand, pool, bikes, family and fun.
We took my parents to some our favorite spots like Poe's on Sullivan's Island and the Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Pier. The weather was amazing and the kids slept pretty good the first night. We won't talk about the second night.

It's hard to pick a favorite activity, we crammed so much into the three day weekend. Highlights would definitely include watching Kate fly a kite with my Dad for the first time, splashing in the pool, and a date night with Matt that included crab cakes, key lime pie, and discovering a new path through the dunes to explore. I think my favorite thing we did though was our morning bike rides, it is the best way to see the island.

It was hard to pack up and say goodbye, but we're super lucky that our week long beach vacation is just around the corner. I can't wait!
