I thought about calling it quits on the monthly photo/update commitment this month, but a quick look back reminded me that I kept it up until Kate was 18 months old so in the name of sibling fairness I will continue on with the tradition until June.
Luke is not walking yet, but it's only because he isn't patient enough to try. He is a super speedy crawler and God help us- climber, and is so efficient at getting where he wants to go that he is not at all interested in learning how to walk. His balance is actually pretty good the few times he has accidentally let go of whatever piece of furniture or box or parent's leg he is using to assist him in scrambling to higher ground.
Luke is not talking yet, but don't tell him that. This man can babble up a storm and carry on what he is clearly convinced are complete conversations. He gets loud and animated and a light in his eyes when he knows he has your attention.
Likes: to splash in the bath, to scoot backwards on the floor on his back in a move we call the backstroke when he doesn't get his way, and to bite... toys, the couch, his sister's foot, the shoulder of whoever is carrying him, etc.
Dislikes: When Kate snatches toys from him, when dinner is delayed, diaper changes, and shoes on his feet

Luke has a spirit of adventure that I hope he never loses. Whether it's fearlessly crawling into a tunnel, eagerly trying new foods, or boldly exploring territories that are off limits like the tiny space behind his rocking chair, this little man has a passionate determination and curiosity about him that will be both a challenge and a joy to parent in the coming years.
