7 Months

If you're wondering after the last post if we made it without anyone getting sick last week, the answer is a miserable and giant NO.  June 2015, in my opinion, was one of the stupidest months ever and I'm glad it's over.  We're only a few hours in to July, but I haven't come in contact with any throw up yet this month, so it's starting off pretty good in my book.  Speaking of July... that means my little man is somehow seven months old already!  Let's talk about that instead!

As you can see, he is sitting up on his own nice and proud these days.  He can't crawl in the conventional sense of the word, but he sure has mastered a similar "slither, shimmy, and scoot" move to get him exactly where he wants to go.

Protective over his Penguin, with good reason- Kate is always on the prowl for Luke's toys
Likes: Puffs, food, grabbing everything and putting it in his mouth, baths, tickles, his sister, waking up super early, babbling, and blowing spit bubbles

Dislikes: the snot sucker, the finger nail clippers, the changing pad, and afternoon naps

Best friends
One of his favorite habits is grabbing fistfuls of hair in his strong tiny grasp and pulling with all his might.  This has led to me getting a haircut to remove some of the temptation.  At least now when it's pulled back he can't reach my ponytail anymore.

New summer style thanks to the grabby baby
Luke's little personality is starting to shine through the mischievous glimmer in his eyes, his shrieks and squeals of delight, and intense fascination in his surroundings.  He is curious and he is sweet.

Sometimes, it can get boring cooped up inside with your kiddos when no one feels great... and you decide to play dress up and stage your kids for pictures with hand me down costumes.  What? You don't do that?  Well, I did:

My little monkeys
There might have been a loud version of "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" being belted out in the picture below.  Luke, as you can see, is both frightened and intrigued.  He is also probably wishing he too could join in the fun of jumping on the bed.  Soon enough, little one.

Seven months ago I held this little chunky monkey for the first time, and I have happily been kissing those cheeks every single day since.  Here's hoping the next month is a healthy and memorable one!
