Fripp Island

Excuse me while I go take another dip in the ocean, it's my new favorite weekend activity

As if last weekend in Hilton Head with my parents wasn't enough of a fabulous fall break... this past weekend we had another sunshine filled beach weekend with Matt's parents who had been vacationing for the week on Fripp Island.  We had never been to Fripp, or the surrounding area of historic Beaufort before, and it did not disappoint.  The pleasant temperatures, charming Spanish moss draped trees, ocean front view from the condo, and time with family made for another special and very relaxing weekend that I will look back on cherish in the coming months when things get hectic with a newborn again.

Our fearless beach bum also amazed her other set of grandparents with her brave moves charging both sand and surf.  Even though they had witnessed her love of the beach before, it continues to grow with each visit.

Let's go to the beach, Grammie and Granddaddy!

Splash! Splash!

At one point Kate decided to lay in the surf and let the waves hit her in the face.  She thought it was hysterical.  She also enjoyed rolling around in the sand, it didn't even bother her that it was all over her face, she's in love with all things related to the beach.  It was just as much fun for all of us to watch her glee as it was for Kate to experience it.

I love crashing the vacations of our families and watching Kate play with her grandparents and explore new places.  We're done with traveling for awhile since I'm entering the last month of this pregnancy, which made the past two lovely beach getaway weekends some extra fun memories of our last fall as a family of three.  I can't wait to have two sand covered kiddos to chase around the beach in coming years and hope we're often lucky enough to join up with their grandparents on vacation.

  1. What a fun weekend. I loved every minute of being with you all. Kate enjoys the beach so much that it makes it that much more fun.
    See you in 6 weeks.
