11 Months

Where has this year gone?  I can't believe it's December, and that the next time the 12th of a month rolls around... it will be my daughter's first birthday.  I love, love, love the stage she is currently in; the curious, happy, crawling baby is a joy to have in our home.

Kate's eleventh month included her longest road trip yet for Thanksgiving, her first round of croup and steroids to fight it, attempts at walking but mainly just rapid scurrying while holding on to the sides of furniture, her two top teeth breaking through, and a variety of new foods as we transitioned from me visiting the daycare during lunch for nursing to Kate joining the "big" kids at the table to sample whatever the kitchen made for lunch that day.

Current Favorites: pointing at things, waving, high fives, dancing to music by wobbling and rocking her whole body to the beat, playing with her Bath Time Dunkers basketball game in the tub, finding new noises and repeating them over and over (like last week she couldn't stop saying what sounded like "ju! ju!"and it was adorable), books, the Christmas tree, attempting to crawl under things that are too small for her to fit under, brushing her teeth, playing some fast version of hot potato by repeatedly handing toys to us and then reaching out for us to immediately give them back to her, "drinking" from her sippy cup (which really means happily dumping water all down her front), remote controls, banging blocks against things, cell phones, bedtime stories with Daddy, and climbing anything her height

Dislikes: diaper changes, getting dressed, getting undressed, teething, having her runny nose wiped, any type of hair accessory, and being told "No!" which results in her sticking out her bottom lip to pout and scream

Coming up soon: baby's first Christmas, baby's first steps, baby's first birthday!  What a wonderful year it has been and what a memorable holiday season is headed our way.
