First Bike Ride

Yesterday we took Kate on her first bike ride!  She's reached the point when sitting up is no problem anymore, although it continues to surprise me when I go to get her after a nap and she's sitting straight up in her crib expectantly looking around her room.  Anyway, now that's she is officially a "sitter" it was safe to strap her into her chariot!

The bike trailer is very nice, Kate has her own bug screen, sun shade, tinted windows, and rain cover flap if necessary.  The seat also looks very comfy with lots of padding for our wee adventurer.

Riding in style, mosquito netting secured!

We did a few laps around the small lake at the entrance to our neighborhood, the paths are paved and wide and it made me really happy to follow along behind the trailer and see that little dark headed baby looking to the right and left taking in all the scenery from her new vantage point.  Towards the end of our short ride there were some squawks of complaints coming from Matt's passenger, but not for too long.

Overall we had a fun outing, the first of many I'm sure.  It was nice to get out of the house, I enjoyed being back on my bike for the first time in over a year, and it was exciting to take the baby with us.
