Hello, October!

After such a busy end to September, we did what we usually do when life gets a little too crazy... we ran away to the beach for a gorgeous, sunny day as a family yesterday.

This time we explored Charles Towne Landing where we strolled under 800 year old trees, tried a tasty new spot downtown for lunch where I fell in love with a sandwich, drove through stunning historic neighborhoods along the battery so the kids could nap in the backseat, ran around for hours at the park under the bridge, watched dolphins jumping up close from the end of the Folly Beach pier, and finished a much needed, soul restoring family day with a pineapple margarita and shrimp taco at our favorite place, Taco Boy.

The morning started off crisp and fall like, but by lunch we changed into shorts and t-shirts and enjoyed the 80-90 degree temperatures the rest of the day.

The Tattooed Moose
We have lived in South Carolina almost six years now, and day trips to the coast are still one of my favorite perks about living here.  The salty air, the sunset over the marsh, the happy snores coming from the car on the drive home, all of it is always exactly what I need to recharge and reconnect with my family.  I know I say it often on the blog, but in case you've missed it... the invitation always stands for any of you to come visit us in the Palmetto State and spend some time at the beach with us!
