Patriots Point

We had such a fun, although rainy, weekend celebrating Luke's fourth birthday.  There were presents, donuts for breakfast, ice cream cake, Oma and Opa in town, impressive Hot Wheels track constructions, guacamole at Taco Boy, and per Luke's request- a trip to Charleston to explore the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point for his family fun day in lieu of a birthday party.  Due to the weather we couldn't explore the flight deck, but there was so much cool stuff to see inside the giant aircraft carrier that we didn't even feel like we missed that much.

The rain did not slow down these adventurers!  Kate and Luke eagerly led the way onto the boat and especially enjoyed touring all the tight spaces and interesting glimpses of boat life like the bunks, cafeteria, dentist office, jail, and engine room.  We also toured a submarine, destroyer, spacecraft replica, and some helicopters.

It was a memorable weekend, we should let Luke plan our itinerary more often!

  1. Patriot Point is a fun trip for sure. The dental chair Kate sat in was very much like one in the dental office I worked in at one time.
I love your adventurous children and their parents who help make those adventures possible.
