IOP for a day

Matt is in Canada this week, I'm slowly drowning at work, and tempers have been all over at our house lately... so logically we decided to run away for the day to escape reality on Saturday.  We left at sunrise and were pulling in at the Isle of Palms public beach access park right when it opened at 9:00 a.m.  Together with a bunch of our friends from church we set up a small compound on the beach- a village made of umbrellas, tents, toys, coolers, and snacks and spent the next six and a half hours beaching it up.

The beach is always fun, but it is way more fun with friends.  It was nice, especially when the beach got super crowded, to know that we had more adults than kids there keeping an eye on our crew.

We were salty, sandy, sticky and tired by the afternoon, but you know we couldn't pass up a chance to grab some delicious food in Charleston for dinner while we were that close.  One of our group suggested we meet up at Lewis Barbecue, and it was fantastic.  We all had so much fun that we already have a date set next month for another group beach day.

This is how we leave the beach

  1. Envious and so happy that y'all have a good group of friends to spend time with at the beach. Looking forward to our beach time in a couple of weeks.
