Four Months Old

March was a very busy month for us.  We survived runny noses, a stomach bug, a horrible sleep regression, toddler tantrums, and a week home alone while Matt was on a business trip to Canada.  In between all the daily demands of bottle washing, laundry, baby bathing, and working 50 hours a week I still say this is without a doubt one of the greatest seasons of life ever.  Month four brought out our happy baby's smile and giggle- and there is no better sound.

Likes: daycare, his pacifier, Sophie the giraffe, smiling, and watching his sister

Dislikes: sleeping long stretches

We had two different trips to the doctor this month thinking Luke had an ear infection or other reason to blame for some extremely irritable nights.  Both times he was declared healthy, and unfortunately he was just being a bad sleeper.  He rarely fusses during the day, and we're working hard on getting him into a better sleep pattern at night and have made decent progress with him learning to soothe himself back to sleep after his frequent wakings.

Two weeks ago he weighed 17 pounds, and he's already wearing the same UK onesie that Kate wore last year at 15 months. Our chunky monkey is trying to roll over but hasn't quite made it all the way over with all his squishy rolls yet.  He is also trying really hard to follow in his sister's footsteps and become a thumb sucker.

Luke recognizes our faces now and it's the best feeling when he lights up when he sees us.  He loves to laugh in response to our laugh and has such a sweet disposition.  I can hardly remember or imagine a time when being around this happy little person wasn't part of my daily routine.
