Family Filled Weekends

These last few weekends have been full of family visits, and while I don't have time to write as many details as I would like, I do have time to post some (ok, a lot of) pictures to at least document the highlights.  The last weekend in January, Claudia and Stephen stopped by on their way to and from a cruise leaving out of Charleston.  Kate was thrilled to see her favorite aunt and uncle and they were equally excited to spend some time with her and Luke.

Piggy back rides with Uncle and a trip to Target with Aunt:

Making Play Doh Valentine's
This past weekend we took our first road trip as a family of four to Oak Ridge to visit Matt's parents.  The kids did great in the car and really enjoyed spending some extended time with Grammie and Granddaddy.  As a bonus, our dear friends the Crawford family were on their way to Florida and spent two nights at the Wheeler B & B with us!  It is always fun when we get together, and this weekend was no exception.  In fact, as the kids get older I think our reunions are getting even better since the girls had a blast playing together.  The weekend included a trip to the children's museum, Big Ed's Pizza, and dipping strawberries in chocolate for a special Valentine's Day treat.  Here's an overload of pictures of all the fun:

Books with Grammie
Introductions
Devouring the pizza
Watching the pizza get made

Coloring with Grammie and Granddaddy
Coloring with Ellie and Caroline
Opening Valentine's at breakfast
Story time
Adventures and exploration at the Oak Ridge Children's Museum:

"Hello, Mr. President?  It's Katherine Wheeler, I have urgent news."

Splashing in the water is always a hit

This kid sized dollhouse was the best attraction there, the girls loved playing in it
Caroline works in the kitchen while Kate runs out of the tiny living room

Parents had to sit in the backyard

Two pals chatting on the train

Ellie and Kate wow us with their musical talent
Strawberry dipping is a group project
We found a way to get our kid to gobble up fruit!

Yum! Ellie approves.

The chocolate mustache says it all.
Happy girl.
